Following the successful completion of other projects, Ulsan Aluminum has placed another order – fully funded by Novelis – with Gautschi.

Ulsan Aluminum is a joint venture, headquartered in Ulsan, between Novelis and South Korea’s Kobelco. Founded in 2017, the company produces flat-rolled aluminum for a variety of market sectors that is processed into automotive, beverage can, industrial and light gauge products.

The contract with Ulsan Aluminum covers the design, manufacture, and supply of a second pusher preheating furnace for the Ulsan works. This pusher furnace is an aluminum ingot preheating furnace that can operate semi-continuously or continuously, and which has a capacity of 30 rolling ingots.

The furnace is subdivided into six heating zones, each of which can be individually controlled to ensure efficient heat transfer and short heating-up times.
