New order for MAERZ-Gautschi

MAERZ-Gautschi Industrieofenanlagen GmbH, based in Switzerland, have recently obtained an order from Norsk Hydro as in Norway.Norsk Hydro has ordered for its plant in Sunndalsøra one 64-tonne-capacity tiltable aluminium holding furnace for one of the existing casting lines in the casthouse. Furthermore, one new casting line, consisting of two 55-tonne-capacity tiltable aluminium holding furnaces and one ingot casting and robotic stacking line have been awarded to MAERZ-Gautschi for the PFA 2 expansion project.
All furnaces will be equipped with specially designed charging nozzles to accommodate Norsk Hydro?s special requirements. The furnaces will be double tilting type to facilitate cleaning.
The ingot casting and stacking machine is fully automatic and will be operated by one person only. The capacity of the machine is 13t/h of 8kg Primary Foundry alloy ingot.
The equipment is due for commissioning in the third quarter of 2006.
